Senior Applications Engineer

ASML•Austin, TX
•$99,375 - $145,750•Onsite

About The Position

This is a senior technical role supporting the startup, ramp, and maturation of Applications Engineering for a new US-based advanced-node customer. The engineer will help establish Applications Engineering capability for a development line in Texas and a future high-volume manufacturing (HVM) site. The role involves building customer relationships and driving technical execution from early wafer introduction through pilot-line execution and ramp to volume. The engineer will be assigned to a primary platform, such as YieldStar, EUV, or DUV, or a project area such as NPI Startup or New Technology Projects. They will be responsible for on-product performance within their scope and collaborate with Applications, Equipment, and customer engineering teams to support node transfer and ramp execution. The position is initially based in Austin, Texas, and will transition toward the future HVM location as the customer footprint expands. Travel to other ASML and customer sites may be needed to build platform expertise, support process transfer, and learn system configurations. The engineer reports to the local Applications Manager and works with Applications Engineers across regions, drawing on global best known methods and expertise. The role requires ownership of technical deliverables, disciplined execution, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across ASML and customer organizations. The engineer leads technical problem solving and project execution, supports new-node introduction and ramp, and contributes to broader team outcomes. The work includes an initial platform-learning and process-transfer phase, a pilot-line phase focused on tool qualification and performance stabilization, and a ramp-to-volume phase focused on yield improvement, process optimization, and sustaining performance. The position is primarily onsite at ASML and customer locations, with some work in a cleanroom. Travel is up to approximately 30%, potentially higher during initial onboarding and startup; training may include international locations such as Taiwan and the Netherlands. The role may require work under time-sensitive conditions to support critical milestones.
