About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Engineer, Municipal Wastewater and Water Treatment to join their team in the Vancouver region. This role involves dual responsibilities: developing and maintaining business relationships with municipalities and contributing to project delivery as either a Project Manager or a Discipline Lead. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Municipal experience, working water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of large pumping stations, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, or related municipal infrastructure.
  • Proven business development experience, including identifying opportunities, developing pursuits, and converting leads into projects.
  • Knowledge of GTA design standards, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to develop and execute account strategies for key municipal and infrastructure clients.
  • Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams and coordinate resources across multiple offices.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a seller-doer mentality, balancing client development responsibilities with technical project execution.
  • Strong communication and consulting skills, with the ability to understand client business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Applied Hydraulics or Hydrology.
  • Existing network of municipal contacts within GTA region and municipalities, First Nations, utilities, and related agencies is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities within the GTA and surrounding municipal and utility sector.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager responsible for defining scope, managing budget, risk, and schedule, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Serve as a Discipline Lead responsible for preparing technical documentation (equipment specifications, design criteria, P&IDs), developing and managing procurement packages, and mentoring team members.
  • Prepare and/or contribute to engineering effort estimates, proposals, budgets, and project execution plans.
  • Support proposal development, including technical writing, pricing strategies, and interview presentations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, workshops, and technical discussions with senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with municipalities in the Vancouver region.
