About The Position

EXP is seeking a Project Engineer for its Brampton office. This role is ideal for individuals who are proactive and eager to contribute their knowledge in civil engineering and project management within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. The Project Engineer will work closely with senior staff, acting as a client contact and building relationships. The position involves civil design knowledge and a drive for continued success. The role will focus on water/wastewater related infrastructure projects across Central Canada, including treatment plants and pumping stations, from conceptual design through construction and close-out. The Project Engineer will collaborate with various in-house disciplines as part of EXP's full-service delivery program and work within project teams.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree or diploma in engineering, P. Eng. or C.E.T. licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario.
  • More than seven years of relevant work experience.
  • A thorough understanding and application of water/wastewater treatment theories and practices, including detailed design of: Water/Wastewater Treatment Systems, Water and Sewage Pumping Stations.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on water/wastewater design, commissioning and trouble-shooting skills are desirable.
  • Experience with Civil 3D is an asset.
  • Experience in the preparation of construction specifications including technical specifications, as well as Master Format specifications would be an asset.
  • Supporting proposals and presentations related to water/wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work on water/wastewater related infrastructure projects across Central Canada.
  • Successfully deliver medium to large-scale water and wastewater related infrastructure projects including water/wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations, from studies, conceptual design, detailed design, tendering through construction and close out.
  • Build strong working relationships with other in-house EXP disciplines including architectural, structural, electrical, I&C, and other disciplines as part of One - EXP’s full-service delivery program.
  • Work on project teams, including project managers, design engineers, design/drafters, field supervisors and inspectors, and other members of the project.
  • Oversee all necessary approvals and permits for projects, including those from municipalities, provincial (Ontario) and federal government agencies.
  • Coordinate meetings with multiple stakeholders (e.g., clients, contractors, approving agencies, planners, other consultants, residents, etc.) as necessary to meet project objectives.
