About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Engineer I who engages with our clients at a high level to assess their operations, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations to maximize energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. The Sr Engineer I takes the lead to consult, gather data, create optimization models of industrial systems and write feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects, while leading overall management of projects. The Sr Engineer I provides mentorship and contributes to peer support and quality control review. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
  • 5-8 years of engineering experience
  • Expert technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system results

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage high-profile industrial energy efficiency projects, ensuring accountability for scope, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Analyze industrial systems and quantify energy savings using accepted methodologies, calculation tools, and spreadsheets.
  • Engage onsite with clients to understand equipment and operations, identify efficiency opportunities, and recommend improvements.
  • Communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences—presenting complex technical issues, building consensus, and producing client-ready reports.
  • Document and validate performance through data collection/logging; maintain utility program compliance knowledge; and mentor peers through technical review.
