Senior Engineer (FullStack), Importers

This position is for a software engineer with a focus on importing API information into Postman. The role involves designing and developing libraries to support conversions across API schemas, improving the overall maturity of the platform through code reviews and best practices, and working on network interception to enhance the interceptor and proxy product. The successful candidate will also mentor and lead technical initiatives, while collaborating with engineering teams and keeping business outcomes in mind. The ideal candidate should have hands-on software engineering experience, proficiency in JavaScript and React, and a deep understanding of the web platform.

• Work on and improve importing varied API information into Postman without any information loss keeping speed and scalability in mind.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust libraries/abstractions to support conversions across API schemas.
• Perform code reviews and play a part in improving the overall maturity of the platform.
• Work on network interception across the different layers of TCP/IP stack to improve our interceptor and proxy product.
• Advocate for best practices that improve reliability, security, performance, or quality.
• Mentor early-career and experienced Engineers to bring out the best in them and help them succeed at Postman.
• Lead technical initiatives to solve ambiguous problems keeping customers in mind.

• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• 3+ years with JavaScript & React
• Experience with building system software, specifically packet sniffing
• A deep understanding of the capabilities and constraints of the web platform
• Experience designing great APIs/libraries that are well-designed, tested, and documented
• Experience collaborating across engineering teams
• Experience in driving technical initiatives and keeping business outcomes in focus
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A degree in Computer Science (or similar Software Engineering related discipline)
