About The Position

The Anduril Imaging team develops imaging systems across hardware and software, using computer vision, perception, electro-optical, infrared, and sensor data to address security challenges. The Manufacturing Team rapidly iterates and builds defense hardware across the manufacturing value chain, including design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing and interaction, quality planning, and manufacturing documentation. As a Senior Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer, you will improve manufacturing processes, maintain high production quality, and support new product development and implementation. You will optimize processes, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and help develop products and scale them to full production. The role includes ownership of manufacturing activities for electro-mechanical assemblies, including assembly, integration, and test (AI&T), as well as hands-on work with prototype hardware and collaboration with engineering, quality, technicians, and contract manufacturers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electro-mechanical hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electro-mechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Personal hands-on experience physically manufacturing hardware, such as machining, fabrication, soldering, wire harness assembly or repair, or general assembly.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, DAQs, and programmable power supplies.
  • Prior experience with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP), or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical products requiring system assembly, integration, and test (AI&T).
  • Ability to communicate technical challenges to audiences at various levels, including site leadership.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in a technical field such as engineering, mathematics, or a hard science is preferred.
  • Personal or extracurricular hardware projects.

Responsibilities

  • Own part or all of the manufacturing value chain for electro-mechanical assemblies, including Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T).
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement and lead impactful Kaizen events.
  • Partner with Product Quality Engineering to support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) burndowns addressing issues within and outside Production.
  • Troubleshoot complex mixed-signal systems and drive issues to root cause.
  • Implement corrective actions to improve first-pass yield (FPY) and overall production performance.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering throughout product development to provide design-for-X (DFx) input and support smooth new product introduction (NPI) transitions.
  • Develop process flows that break complex assemblies into logical part flows, subassemblies, and subprocesses.
  • Create manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements.
  • Work with contract manufacturers across disciplines such as PCBA fabrication, metallic manufacturing, and assembly to establish repeatable processes for quick-turn development and scaled production.
  • Work hands-on with technicians and engineers to build prototype hardware.
  • Contribute to mechanical or electrical design of end-customer hardware, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, described as comprehensive and competitive and available at little to no cost to employees.
