About The Position

Slifco Electric is a premier electrical contracting firm serving the Automotive, Heavy Industrial, and Mission Critical sectors. We specialize in both ground-up construction and major renovations, managing electrical packages ranging from small service work to multi-million-dollar installations. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who can take the reins on complex projects, from bidding and preconstruction to construction and closeout. This role will also involve mentoring 1-2 junior project managers, ensuring the success of the entire team. The Senior Project Manager will lead projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards, while fostering strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in electrical project management and estimating.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects ($30M–$200M).
  • Leadership experience mentoring junior project managers or teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software (Accu-Bid, McCormick).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience preparing estimates over $1M.
  • Background in Institutional, Automotive, or Heavy Industrial electrical projects is a must.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients, vendors, and teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Design-build experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead bidding process, including pre-bid meetings, site walk-throughs, and final proposals.
  • Assemble estimates including labor, materials, subcontractors, and all associated costs.
  • Negotiate contracts and finalize scopes of work.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and the project team.
  • Mentor and oversee 1-2 junior Project Managers, providing guidance and support.
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, progress reports, and status updates.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecast costs, and ensure project profitability.
  • Coordinate with other trades, superintendents, foremen, and safety teams for smooth and safe project execution.
  • Manage all project documentation, including submittals, contracts, purchase orders, and revisions.
  • Communicate any delays, scope changes, or cost impacts and implement solutions.
