About The Position

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a candidate to provide electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects. The qualified candidate will serve as the lead electrical engineer on projects for water and wastewater facilities, supervising less experienced staff and interacting with clients and engineers from other disciplines. The role also involves serving as a technical mentor, engaging in business development activities like proposal preparation and fee/scope development, and potentially filling the role of Project Manager for selected Electrical projects.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in industrial power design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, generator design, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities.
  • Good working knowledge of the NEC and related Codes.
  • Good communication skills, including interaction with clients and contractors.
  • Prior project leadership experience is required.
  • AutoCAD experience is a must.
  • Over 12 years of experience in electrical engineering and design in water/wastewater or other heavy industrial industry is required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineering License is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Revit BIM software and SKM and/or ETAP power systems software is desirable.
  • Prior engineering leadership experience is highly desirable.
  • Leadership experience in major projects is desired.
  • Experience with instrumentation and control systems is a plus, including field and panel instruments, operator interfaces, and PLCs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects.
  • Serve as the lead electrical engineer on projects for water and wastewater facilities.
  • Supervise less experienced staff working on projects.
  • Interact with clients and engineers from other disciplines.
  • Serve as a technical mentor for less experienced staff in local offices.
  • Engage in Business Development activities such as proposal preparation and fee/scope development.
  • Fill the role of Project Manager for selected Electrical projects.
