About The Position

A well-established and growing commercial electrical construction company is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to lead estimating operations, improve bid accuracy, and provide mentorship to an established estimating team. This is a confidential direct-hire opportunity with long-term leadership growth potential. The organization has built a strong reputation for quality execution, accountability, and collaboration across field and office operations. This role will work closely with executive leadership on bid strategy, backlog planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Electrical Estimator will oversee estimating efforts for large-scale commercial and mission-critical electrical construction projects while providing leadership and quality control for the estimating department. This individual will play a key role in improving estimating processes, managing risk, and ensuring competitive and accurate proposals.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of electrical estimating experience
  • 2+ years of estimating leadership or management experience
  • Strong commercial electrical construction background
  • Experience with electrical takeoffs, budgeting, and blueprint interpretation
  • Ability to identify bid risks and scope gaps
  • Experience reviewing and overseeing proposals
  • Strong mentorship and leadership capabilities
  • Proficiency with electrical estimating software

Nice To Haves

  • Accubid (Conest) experience strongly preferred
  • Bluebeam experience preferred
  • E1 or E2 electrical license
  • Mission-critical or healthcare project experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the estimating team
  • Review estimates and proposals prior to submission
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and constructive feedback to estimators
  • Improve estimating processes, consistency, and efficiency
  • Partner with executive leadership on bid strategy and forecasting
  • Prepare and lead estimates for major commercial electrical projects
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop comprehensive cost proposals
  • Ensure estimates account for labor, materials, subcontractors, scheduling, and risk
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
  • Compile complete bid packages and supporting documentation
  • Identify scope gaps, pricing exposure, and schedule risks
  • Recommend value engineering opportunities where appropriate
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of competitive bids
  • Build relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs
