About The Position

At Winward Electric in Ogden, Utah, we're looking for a Senior Electrical Estimator who knows electrical construction inside and out and can turn that knowledge into smart, competitive, win-worthy bids. This role is not an entry-level position focused solely on data entry. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for spotting gaps, risks, and opportunities in project plans. The job is fast-paced and deadline-driven, involving a mix of independent work and collaboration, with significant problem-solving required due to the imperfect nature of project plans. This is a high-visibility role where your work directly impacts the company's project acquisition success.

Requirements

6+ years in electrical construction.
6+ years of estimating experience (commercial/industrial preferred).
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices.
Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar.
Ability to read blueprints proficiently.
A sharp eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
Solid communication skills for interacting with engineers, PMs, and vendors.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Own the estimating process from start to finish, including plans, specs, and scope.
Break down projects into real costs: labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
Lead quantity takeoffs and ensure accuracy to avoid costly omissions.
Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to build competitive bids.
Attend site walks and pre-bid meetings to understand project nuances.
Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
Submit clean, accurate, and timely proposals.
Assist in the smooth handover of projects once they are won.
