Requirements

6+ years in electrical construction
6+ years of estimating experience
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices
Experience with estimating software like Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar
Ability to read blueprints like a second language
A sharp eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple bids at once
Solid communication skills-you can talk to engineers, PMs, and vendors without things getting lost in translation

Nice To Haves

Commercial/industrial estimating experience preferred

Responsibilities

Own the estimating process from start to finish-plans, specs, scope, all of it
Break down projects into real costs: labor, materials, equipment, subs
Lead quantity takeoffs and make sure nothing gets missed (because missed = expensive)
Work closely with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to build competitive bids
Attend site walks and pre-bid meetings to get the real story behind the plans
Identify value engineering opportunities (save money without cutting corners)
Submit clean, accurate, on-time proposals-no last-minute chaos
Help hand projects off smoothly once the job is won
