About The Position

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. As part of a hardworking team, the Electrical Engineering Lead for the Lunar Cryocooler System will be responsible for the Avionics and Motor Control system for the Zero Boil Off (ZBO) Cryocooler, which enables Blue Origin to make hydrogen a storable propellant and is a key technology for our permanent lunar presence. This role is responsible for planning, setting standards within the technical team, and guiding a team of high performing avionics engineers. They will work to ensure the avionics/control electronics for the Zero Boil Off Cryocooler are developed within technical, cost and schedule constraints. This includes flight software, avionics hardware, hardware-in-loop (HIL), and development of controllers for very high-speed gas bearing motors. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
