About The Position

As the Sr System Engineering Manager, this role involves leading a team of systems engineers within the Sleep & Respiratory Care segment. The manager will combine technical expertise with leadership skills to enhance product safety, drive innovation, and support team development. Key aspects include leading and managing a multidisciplinary team of systems, reliability, and usability engineers, setting expectations, and fostering systems thinking across new product development and sustaining engineering programs. The position also involves building, mentoring, and retaining a high-performing organization by hiring top talent and coaching engineers to strengthen technical rigor, systems thinking, and leadership capabilities. The manager will translate business and R&D strategy into executable systems engineering plans, staffing models, and priorities, providing clear direction on scope, ownership, and execution. This role serves as the senior technical authority for system-level decisions, guiding cross-functional teams through architectural, clinical, usability, and product tradeoffs. It also oversees systems engineering activities such as product architecture development, system and subsystem requirements definition, interface definition, system-level risk analysis, and coordination of system build and integration efforts. A crucial part of the role is driving continuous improvement in systems engineering practices by adopting modern tools, digital workflows, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled methods, to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience leading teams.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering complex systems projects within FDA regulated medical device/systems environments.
  • Skills in systems engineering tools, systems architecture, and product design for electromechanical devices.
  • Hands-on experience in electromechanical systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to successfully perform the minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • Expert at conveying complex topics to key stakeholders, cross functional teams and leadership.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
  • Must reside in or within commuting distance to New Kensington, PA.
