  • Experience operating and maintaining medium-voltage electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, and paralleling generators.
  • Knowledge of design and construction for 600V-and-below electrical distribution equipment and systems, including switchgear, panelboards, lighting and lighting control, power monitoring, generators, life safety systems, and lightning protection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and equipment selection for process, utilities, and building systems from an electrical perspective, optimizing quality and cost over asset lifecycles.
  • Ensure appropriate use of technology and alignment with sound operations and maintenance standards and practices.
  • Coordinate responses to electrical failures, outages, near misses, and incidents, and ensure investigation findings result in corrective actions.
  • Review reliability, system condition, recurring defects, overdue actions, and emerging risks; prioritize corrective work.
  • Support execution of engineering and performance qualification runs and provide hypercare support as needed.
  • Perform engineering assessments for plant equipment operations, implement equipment modifications, and support engineering runs for new product and technology introductions.
  • Provide end-to-end electrical engineering support for process, utilities, and building systems and collaborate with customers and support groups to ensure reliable plant operations.
  • Work with EHSS on electrical safety initiatives, plans, and investigations.
  • Identify and implement engineering improvements or upgrades to process equipment systems, including developing business cases and design requirements and supporting construction, startup, and validation.
  • Ensure plant readiness and quality and regulatory compliance for internal, external-agency, and partner audits.
  • Set inspection, testing, and preventive-maintenance requirements based on risk, manufacturer guidance, and operating experience.
  • Provide technical problem-solving leadership to reduce production downtime, including leading root cause analyses and corrective/preventive actions for system families and using AI tools for troubleshooting and fault analysis.
  • Lead new product and technology introductions by performing engineering and equipment-performance risk assessments, identifying and remediating gaps, implementing modifications, and supporting engineering runs.
  • Advance AI solutions and technologies for implementation and volume-driven growth.
  • Represent Amgen with outside firms, technical societies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Deploy internal global and site-based authorities and industry expertise to optimize Amgen assets throughout their lifecycles.
