About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role involves full-cycle PCB design, including requirements gathering, schematic design, component selection, layout supervision, bring-up, testing, debugging, and system integration. You will be responsible for developing fuzing circuitry for missile systems and collaborating closely with vehicle development teams to design, document, and produce tailored fuzing systems and effectors. Your responsibilities will also include developing system interconnect diagrams, defining wire harnesses, and providing support to other air vehicle subsystem development teams. Additionally, you will conduct vendor surveys and evaluations, participate in design reviews, build up and test system components, perform low-level firmware development, and conduct root cause analysis for field operations.

Requirements

• BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs.
• Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current-probes, and automation of tests.
• Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
• Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
• Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
• Comfortable with a variety of electronic CAD tools (Altium preferred, Eagle and others acceptable)
• Experience in design for signal integrity / power integrity
• Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
• Test experience including data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
• Ability to travel as required for testing (surges up to 25%).
• Passion for defending the United States and her allies.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

• Active U.S. security clearance (DoD Secret or Top-Secret or DOE L or Q).
• 5-10 years’ work experience as an individual contributing engineer, focused on electrical design, analysis, and testing of fuzing and/or ordnance systems.
• Understanding of DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160 and relevant avionics design standards for UAS.
• Familiarity with electrical component suppliers.
• Experience in UAS, missiles, or maritime programs.
• Experience with the DoD Weapons Safety Boards.
• Experience designing and scaling production of components at volume.
• Experience developing or testing complex electrical systems.
• Experience with MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-2105.
• Experience with JOTP-052 and JOTP-054.
• Experience with explosive operations and/or handling munitions.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle PCB design including collecting requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug and integration with the system.
• Development of fuzing circuitry for missile systems.
• Closely collaborate with vehicle development teams to design, document, and produce tailored fuzing systems and effectors.

• Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews.
• Build up and test system components through lab, ground, and flight tests.
• Low level firmware development for bring-up and test.
• Root cause analysis in support of field operations.
