This opportunity entails serving as a senior electrical engineer responsible for the development, design, and delivery of electrical infrastructure systems for complex transportation and infrastructure projects. The role includes preparing and overseeing engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and project managers to deliver high quality solutions. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with experience supporting aviation facilities, transportation infrastructure, and municipal utility systems such as lift stations. This position requires a well rounded electrical engineering background with the ability to lead discipline efforts, support project delivery, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience designing electrical systems for transportation infrastructure, aviation facilities, and municipal utility systems including lift stations, pump stations, booster stations and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Experience supporting the electrical design of lift stations, including power distribution, motor control centers, pump controls, standby power systems, instrumentation, and SCADA integration.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, motor controls, variable frequency drives, control panels, and backup power systems for critical infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting DOT, aviation, or municipal agency projects and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to lead electrical discipline design efforts and coordinate across civil, mechanical, structural, and controls teams.
  • Experience preparing electrical construction documents including plans, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards such as NEC and applicable municipal and utility requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients, agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and support technical development within the team.
  • Experience managing multiple technical tasks while maintaining project schedules and quality standards.
  • Experience supporting lighting design for highway, interchange, roadway, and street lighting applications.
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Responsibilities

  • Uses senior-level technical expertise to consider broad range of engineering solutions.
  • Responsible for the discipline-specific planning, work distribution, and leadership and adherence to the schedule, and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
  • Develops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects within discipline.
  • Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects on complex or unusual engineering projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
