About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Drupal Developer as part of our Senior Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services career path to support the modernization of a large-scale public-facing government website. In this role, you will build responsive, accessible Drupal themes, templates, and reusable front-end components that translate approved designs into high-quality digital experiences. You will work closely with UX, accessibility, backend Drupal, content, and QA team members to implement consistent, maintainable, and accessible experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile. This is a fully remote role. At Fearless, this Senior Consultant collaborates with cross functional teams to align the technical vision, implementation, and quality of software systems across development, reliability, testing, and operations. This role will possess the skills to be able to bridge business objectives with technical execution in software development, infrastructure, security, and testing at an advanced application level of proficiency. The Sr. Consultant role will work on projects that allow them to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable solutions while mentoring engineers, fostering collaboration, and aligning stakeholders with product and project goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of total relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • At least 3 years supporting enterprise-wide website modernization or digital transformation initiatives, with that work occurring within the past 5 years.
  • Participation in at least one government, higher education, or similarly regulated organization project.
  • Experience implementing at least one Drupal solution hosted on AWS.
  • Strong background in Drupal front-end development, including Drupal 10/11 theming and Twig.
  • Advanced proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Strong experience developing responsive, component-based interfaces across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop accessible, semantic front-end experiences.
  • Proficiency translating Figma designs and specifications into production-ready Drupal interfaces.
  • Experience implementing design systems and developing reusable front-end components.
  • Proficiency with Git or comparable source-control tools.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings, which may involve driving or flying.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).

Responsibilities

  • Develop responsive, accessible Drupal themes, templates, and reusable front-end components for the modernized website.
  • Translate Figma designs and specifications into production-ready Drupal experiences using Twig, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Implement the Massachusetts Design System and approved design patterns, building reusable components that support consistency and maintainability across the website.
  • Develop responsive, semantic, and accessible interfaces that provide consistent experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Partner with UX and Accessibility leads to implement accessible components and interaction patterns throughout the Drupal experience.
  • Develop front-end experiences supporting navigation, search and faceted search, forms, multilingual content, and other key website functionality.
  • Collaborate with backend Drupal developers to integrate front-end components with Drupal content models, configuration, and functionality.
  • Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing, troubleshoot front-end issues, and resolve defects identified through QA and accessibility testing.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to front-end development standards, quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Support production readiness, deployment validation, troubleshooting, and post-release stabilization.
