About The Position

The Senior Director, Quality Business Process Excellence is a strategic role responsible for enabling Innovative Medicine Quality processes and deliverables. This role leads end-to-end programs and owns specific end-to-end business processes. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining the process decomposition, driving continuous improvement of Quality processes, and consolidating the investment picture for the Quality Systems function. The leader will also shape supply chain resiliency in collaboration with R&D, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Enterprise functions. This role oversees a team of business excellence professionals focused on end-to-end programs and supporting Innovative Medicine Quality with strategic problem-solving and process improvements. The position requires close partnership with the Quality Systems & Innovative Medicine Quality Leadership teams to enable Quality processes.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of 10-12 years relevant business experience is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years in Supply Chain (Operational), Quality or R&D is required.
  • Proven overall PE knowledge in Six Sigma, Lean or DEX is required.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity in a complex environment. Makes the complex clear and easily understood by others.
  • Ability to build effective partnering relationships.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of the area supported, knows how value is created in the business, understanding the key levers for driving breakthrough improvement.
  • Understanding of overall business environment, including financial acumen.
  • Leverage a deep understanding of internal and external customer needs and insights to inform decision making and strengthen overall value to the customer.
  • Track record of influencing the external environment based on knowledge of social, political, regulatory and economic issues affecting businesses domestically and globally.

Responsibilities

  • Enablement of the Quality processes and serve as a close business partner to the members of the Quality Systems & Innovative Medicine Quality Leadership teams.
  • Define and maintain the process model and decomposition, ensuring documentation of processes and making them available through training.
  • Drive consistency and continuous improvement in line with business needs and scope.
  • Manage investments for Quality Systems in collaboration with the IMQ Strategy & Operations function, including providing status updates.
  • Oversee end-to-end performance management and tiered performance management, including monthly scorecard reviews and ownership of a fully connected performance management structure.
  • Lead resiliency efforts, including foundational risk assessments, transparency on supply chain resiliency status, and serving as the single point of contact for SC resiliency challenges within the IM Quality function.
  • Consolidate content for the yearly Board of Directors review on risk.
  • Focus on talent development within the team, ensuring positions are filled with top talent capable of driving progression and ensuring talent flow to impactful positions.
  • Maintain excellent connections with other excellence groups in IMQ, Enterprise, and partner functions.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Commercial to ensure IMQ processes are well aligned.
