Director of Business Process Excellence

Omnidian
•$155,000 - $205,000•Remote

About The Position

Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Director of Business Process Excellence improves how work moves across Omnidian’s teams to reduce cost, delays, and rework while maintaining service quality. This individual contributor establishes enterprise process architecture, standards, and governance, and personally leads prioritized cross-functional improvement initiatives. You will partner across Go-To-Market, Operations, Field Services, and Technology to map workflows, analyze performance data, facilitate cross-functional redesign sessions, and define business system requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8–10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise process engineering, value stream mapping, operational excellence, or management consulting, with a proven track record of re-architecting complex cross-functional operations.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or Master Black Belt / equivalent formal continuous improvement pedigree) required.
  • Deep experience integrating business operational workflows into major enterprise software platforms (such as CRM and Field Service Management tools).
  • Proven ability to act as both a strategic lead and an active practitioner—possessing the gravitas and executive presence to constructively challenge senior leaders (SVP/VP/C-suite) and align matrixed teams, alongside the drive to directly execute detailed process work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Systems Engineering, or a technical/quantitative field required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in clean energy, renewable technology, technical field service, logistics, or complex operational environments strongly preferred.
  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own enterprise process architecture and standards, and lead the design and optimization of prioritized end-to-end workflows across business functions and core systems, in partnership with functional owners across US and Australian operations.
  • Lead current-state baselining initiatives, working directly in the details to identify handoff friction, cycle-time lag, rework drivers, and capacity constraints across priority operational streams.
  • Architect and deploy Target Operating Models, streamlined workflows, and business requirement specifications that eliminate redundant steps and automate optimized processes.
  • Partner continuously with Product Leadership to ensure operational process designs support commercialized product profitability and client service commitments.
  • Partner directly with Operations and Field Service leadership to re-architect high-friction value streams—including diagnostic triage, technician dispatch protocols, schedule density, and back-office handoffs to drive operational cost efficiencies.
  • Trace operational workflows upstream into Go-To-Market, Lead-to-Quote, contracting structures, pricing rules, and sales-to-onboarding handoffs to isolate and resolve root-cause friction at inception.
  • Lead process baselining and workflow integration to support global platform migrations, system integrations, and regional expansions.
  • Partner with and coordinate designated process talent embedded across functional departments, establishing a unified foundation for enterprise process standards without disrupting daily line execution.
  • Establish standardized process mapping standards, workflow notation, and documentation templates, working as a senior technical architect alongside functional SMEs and team leads who co-create detailed operating procedures.
  • Coach and embed structured process engineering and continuous improvement methodologies across cross-functional teams to elevate overall organizational capability.
  • Provide technical architecture, objective data, and process design recommendations, operating in a "Recommend & Design" capacity while functional leaders maintain ultimate decision-making authority over SOP adoption within their teams.
  • Evaluate cross-functional handoffs, challenge localized sub-optimization, and ensure local functional designs serve the broader enterprise value stream.
  • Surface objective value-stream data, bottleneck metrics, and trade-off recommendations to executive leadership when cross-functional misalignments require enterprise resolution.
  • Define business architecture and technical system requirements for enterprise software, ensuring technology automates optimized workflows rather than digitizing operational complexity.
  • Partner closely with Technology and IT leadership to translate recommended target-state process designs into clear platform configuration specifications.
