About The Position

BNY is seeking a Senior Director, Product Strategy to join its Global Payments & Trade leadership team. The role helps shape the business’s strategic direction and translate strategy into product priorities, investments and measurable outcomes. It works with senior leaders across product, commercial, technology, operations, risk and other functions to align priorities and deliver enterprise-wide initiatives. The position also provides market- and data-informed guidance, supports executive planning and decision-making, and promotes disciplined execution and accountability across strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 15+ years of experience in product strategy, business strategy, product management or related leadership roles within financial services or other complex, highly regulated industries.
• Demonstrated ability to connect enterprise priorities to product direction, investment decisions and business outcomes.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders across business, product, technology, operations and risk.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience using data and business insights to support prioritization, performance management and strategic decision-making.
• Experience developing strategic plans, business cases and executive presentations for senior leadership audiences.
• Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills, including the ability to build alignment and drive progress across stakeholders.
• Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with disciplined execution in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build domain expertise quickly and apply it to strategic planning and business leadership.
• Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment and a passion for challenging the status quo to drive meaningful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Help shape the strategic direction of the Global Payments & Trade business, defining priorities that support growth, client value, operational scale and long-term competitiveness.
• Partner with senior leaders across product, commercial, technology, operations, risk and other functions to align on strategic priorities and drive enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Translate business strategy into clear product and execution priorities, aligning investments with market opportunity, client needs and measurable business outcomes.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen business performance, improve client experience and support strategic objectives.
• Identify and assess opportunities for product enhancement, business growth, market expansion and strategic differentiation across Global Payments & Trade.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators, scorecards and milestones to assess progress against strategic goals and support executive decision-making.
• Provide thought leadership informed by market trends, competitive dynamics, client insights and internal performance data.
• Partner with leadership to identify risks, dependencies and execution challenges and support informed decisions and effective prioritization.
• Support the development of strategic plans, business cases and executive-level materials for leadership discussions, planning processes and governance forums.
• Promote execution discipline and accountability across strategic initiatives, supporting alignment, momentum and delivery against commitments.
