About The Position

As the Sr. Director of Technology, you will lead our technology function, with ownership of IT, ERP, systems integrations, cybersecurity, and AI. You will report to the Chief Financial Officer, partner with the CEO on AI strategy and enterprise technology priorities, and serve as a key contributor to the senior leadership team. This is a builder’s role. We are scaling our business and the technology platform must be built to support that journey. You will bring order to our systems, strengthen our security posture, and turn AI into real operating leverage across manufacturing, sales, marketing, and the back office. You will accomplish this with a lean but focused, high-performing team. Technology: ERP, MRP, e-Commerce, Marketing Technology, CRM, Microsoft (Active Directory, Azure, Office 365, SQL), AI Platforms, Cybersecurity, Machine Data Collection, Manufacturing Operations, and more.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership, including experience as a senior IT or technology executive at a manufacturing or industrial company or a combination of related experience, education and/or training to sufficiently and successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience leading a major ERP implementation or migration. Epicor experience strongly preferred; Infor experience a plus.
  • Proven track record building and leading high-performing technology teams in a lean, fiscally disciplined environment.
  • Working knowledge and active deployment experience with modern AI tools and platforms in a business setting.
  • Experience building and operating an information security program in a regulated environment. CMMC and PCI experience required.
  • Strong command of Microsoft (Active Directory, Azure, Office 365, SQL), integration platforms, and modern data architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT operations, end-user support, networking, identity, and infrastructure across all Daniel Defense locations.
  • Define and report IT operating metrics including uptime, ticket resolution, cost per user, project delivery, and security posture.
  • Build a stable, scalable, and secure platform on Microsoft (Active Directory, Azure, Office 365, SQL) and adjacent technologies.
  • Lead the Infor to Epicor migration as the accountable technology executive.
  • Architect and operate the integration layer between ERP, MES, e-commerce, CRM, marketing technology, and machine data collection systems.
  • Drive data integrity, master data governance, and a single source of truth across the business.
  • Translate business requirements into integrated software solutions, partnering closely with finance, operations, supply chain, sales, and marketing.
  • Build and operate a best-in-class information security program suited to a defense manufacturer.
  • Drive CMMC, PCI, and other applicable compliance requirements to full attestation and ongoing readiness.
  • Implement layered defenses across network, endpoint, identity, application, and OT/manufacturing systems.
  • Lead incident response planning and security culture across the organization.
  • Own Daniel Defense’s AI strategy and execution. Identify, prioritize, and deploy AI use cases that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Establish the data foundation—warehouse, pipelines, and governance—required for AI and analytics to scale.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI capabilities into operations, marketing, sales, customer service, and engineering workflows.
  • Build internal AI literacy and help the broader organization become more capable with these tools.
  • Recruit and develop a high-performing technology team. Build for character, curiosity, and capability.
  • Mentor and stretch direct reports. Develop succession plans and “bench strength” so the function is resilient.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Provide strong leadership that encourages collaboration and accountability.
  • Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment.
  • Own the technology budget. Tie technology spending to business outcomes.
  • Renegotiate vendor contracts, consolidate redundant tools, and eliminate underutilized software.
  • Manage strategic partnerships with technology vendors and hold them accountable to outcomes.
  • Serve as the company’s chief technology architect. Ensure technology is strategically aligned, protected, secure, and available.
  • Develop and execute a technology roadmap that supports Daniel Defense’s continued growth.
  • Partner with the CFO on technology budget, ERP, and finance systems strategy. Partner with the CEO on AI strategy and enterprise technology priorities.
  • Contribute to enterprise strategy, M&A diligence and integration, and long-range planning as a senior leader.
  • Provides adequate support, training and development to team members to continuously improve Safety, 6s, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
  • Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
