Senior Director of Performance Marketing

Facet
$170,000 - $225,000Remote

About The Position

At Facet, we are revolutionizing financial planning by putting our members at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a Sr. Director of Performance Marketing who thrives on building world-class growth engines—someone who can turn a complex acquisition strategy into a seamless, high-performing ecosystem. This role is the strategic center of gravity for our paid media program. You'll own the roadmap, the experimental architecture, the platform intelligence, the channel strategy and full funnel performance that drives our growth agenda. We are looking for a leader who has successfully scaled programs to the multi-million dollar level and who is adept at leading agency partners and building consensus across the organization.

Requirements

  • You've owned paid media strategy at a DTC, fintech, or high-growth consumer brand and have driven a program through a significant scaling phase.
  • You have deep platform expertise across the major paid channels and a strong point of view on how to get the most out of each one — not just how to operate in them, but how to build sustainable competitive advantage through them.
  • You understand the difference between optimization and strategy. You're not interested in moving budget around reactively; you want to build systems and frameworks that make the program structurally stronger over time.
  • You've managed agency relationships at a strategic level — setting the direction, holding the standard, and knowing when to push back.
  • You think in experiments. You have a rigorous methodology for how to test, what to measure, and how to scale what works.
  • You're a builder. You thrive in environments where the foundation is strong but the next chapter is still being written, and you're energized by the opportunity to define it.
  • You lead through influence. You work cross-functionally with peers across the organization and know how to bring people along rather than direct them.
  • 7+ years in paid media, with 3+ years in a strategic ownership or leadership role.
  • Deep expertise in Meta Ads at significant scale. Strong Google Ads experience across search, non-brand, and performance channels. Experience with TikTok Ads and emerging social platforms.
  • Experience managing and scaling affiliate partnerships programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and direct agency relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills — you're as comfortable in the data as you are in the strategy.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or a regulated consumer category a plus Proven track record of hitting CPO or RAC/CAC targets at scale

Nice To Haves

  • Breadth of knowledge across the marketing domain, including SEO, content strategy, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g., FinTech or Financial Services) and implementing controls to meet SEC or similar guidelines.
  • Advanced data fluency, with experience building automated reporting functions and conducting deep-dive risk/reward analyses.
  • Experience building or leading high-performing internal marketing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Paid media strategy and roadmap. Own the annual and quarterly strategic roadmap across all paid channels. Define how we allocate, where we test, and how we scale to hit aggressive growth targets.
  • Platform expertise and intelligence. Maintain a continuous, expert-level pulse on the mechanics, algorithm updates, and best practices across every platform in our mix — ensuring Facet is always operating at the leading edge of what each channel has to offer. Translate that intelligence into real-time strategic adjustments that keep us ahead of platform changes rather than reacting to them.
  • Experimental architecture. Design a rigorous, disciplined test-and-learn framework that generates real signal. Build the methodology that moves us from limited, ad hoc testing to a structured innovation pipeline.
  • Agency governance. Own the strategic direction of our media agency relationship. Set the brief, define the rules of engagement, and build the governance model that keeps execution tight and accountable.
  • Affiliate channel ownership. Own our affiliate partnerships program end-to-end — optimizing the performance and economics of existing partners while proactively identifying and onboarding new partners that expand our reach and scale. Build the affiliate channel into a meaningful, diversified growth driver.
  • Paid channel diversification. Continuously evaluate our paid channel mix and identify opportunities to expand into new paid platforms and environments — with platform-native strategies built specifically for each, not repurposed assets from existing channels.
  • Geographic expansion. Own the sequencing and playbook for maximizing reach and penetration in primary markets while expanding into new markets and DMAs in line with our growth strategy.
  • CPO architecture. Own the roadmap to our aggregate cost-per-opportunity targets. Understand every lever — media mix, funnel efficiency, creative performance, audience strategy — and drive the plan to get there at scale.
  • Cross-functional collaboration. Work closely with our Director of Partnerships & Content to ensure performance intelligence and platform requirements are informing the creative brief and content pipeline. Bring a clear, data-driven point of view to every cross-functional conversation.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: $170,000 - $225,000 base salary + bonus. Compensation will be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
  • Ownership: Equity in a rapidly growing company on the path to becoming the "Next Great Financial Services Company".
  • Flexibility: Remote-first culture—work from anywhere in the U.S..
  • Time Off: Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid parental leave, and wellness/education reimbursements.
