We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Director of Merchandising & Design. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: The Senior Director of Merchandising & Design will partner closely with SVP of Design and Merchandising and cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of cohesive product assortments across Modern Class Brands including JNY. This role will focus heavily on assortment cohesion, line organization, outfit architecture, and seasonal product alignment to support overall brand direction and wholesale business needs. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative and commercially minded product leader with deep expertise in women's apparel, fabrication, assortment coordination, and wholesale product execution. This role requires strong partnership skills, product instinct, and the ability to align design, merchandising, and market needs within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience within women’s apparel merchandising, design, and/or product development
  • Strong background within wholesale apparel organizations
  • Deep expertise in women’s suiting, dresses, and multi-category product development
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, garment construction, and product lifecycle management
  • Strong product, assortment, and outfit-building skills
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships across teams and external partners

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Design and Merchandising leadership on seasonal assortment development and product direction
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure collections are cohesive, commercially viable, and aligned with brand direction
  • Coordinate seasonal assortments across women's Sportswear and Dress categories
  • Provide insight on silhouette, fabrication, color, print, and key item opportunities
  • Participate in line reviews, seasonal meetings, and product presentations
  • Support assortment alignment based on retailer needs, customer feedback, and market trends
  • Help drive consistency across categories, presentations, and overall product storytelling
