About The Position

The Senior Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the McCall Behavioral Health Network mission and talent strategy. The Senior Director of Human Resources reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the organization’s senior leadership team. Full-time, Exempt.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • At least five years of human resource management experience required
  • Valid Driver’s license required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with McCall Behavioral Health Network senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Understands the unique needs and challenges of nonprofit behavioral health and medical staffing.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Coordinates closely with clinical quality and training staff.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and time-off; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) and other information sources. This includes and is not limited to tracking and analysis of important measures such as turnover, retention, specific position trends, hiring challenges, performance issues, and other aspects of people management.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • When needed, coordinates with external employment law counsel.
  • Oversee payroll administration.
  • Acts as a resource for supervisors and employees on personnel issues.
  • Oversees credentialing and privileging of clinical staff.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to senior leadership.
  • Develops and implements departmental budget.
  • Assist with the management of the organization’s 403b retirement plan.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
  • Manages the commercial insurance program for the organization including, but not limited to coverage renewals; requests for certificates of insurance; submitting claims; completing surveys; and coordination of audits.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the Human Resources Department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance planning and evaluations.
