About The Position

Onto Innovation is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Sr Director of Finance to support all product lines and the EVP of Engineering. This role will have direct financial responsibilities for the 4D, PSC, and Inspection Product Lines, focusing on delivering financial targets from revenue through contribution margin. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in U.S. GAAP revenue recognition, technical accounting, internal controls, and SEC reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong experience with SEC reporting and public company financial disclosures.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting tools.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct the research and interpretation of new and complex accounting standards, ensuring timely and effective global implementation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on technical accounting and non-routine matters, revenue recognition, and complex new or contemplated transactions.
• Lead the financial accounting aspect of mergers and acquisition activity, including financial due diligence, purchase accounting, and integration.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly close activities for revenue recognition, incentive compensation, and leases.
• Manage and develop high-performing financial reporting and revenue teams.
• Collaborate with external auditors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to support audit and compliance activities.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Support investor relations and executive leadership with financial analysis and reporting insights.
• Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
