About The Position

The Senior Director of Clinic Operations (SDCO) provides senior-level leadership and strategic oversight of clinic operations across all Primary Health Solutions locations. This role ensures day-to-day operations run smoothly by designing efficient systems, managing budgets, and aligning resources with company goals. They optimize processes, analyze performance metrics, drive performance, and collaborate with departments to solve issues. The Senior Director partners closely with the COO to assist in driving system-wide performance, strategic growth initiatives, expansion of services, and external partnerships, while ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, compliant, and financially sustainable patient care.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership in ambulatory or community health settings
  • 10+ years of experience directly leading operational or service line leaders who themselves lead teams or other leaders.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site operations and large-scale initiatives
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to gain knowledge of current practice management systems, electronic medical records, Microsoft Word, text paging, Internet, and Intranet.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior operational leader for clinic operations, ensuring alignment with PHS strategic priorities, growth plans, and long-term sustainability.
  • Translate organizational strategy into actionable operational plans across clinic sites and service lines.
  • Partner with leadership and departments to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic initiatives, including service line expansion and new models of care.
  • Build strong partnerships with providers to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives, promote transparent communication, and cultivate trusting, collaborative relationships between providers and administration.
  • Directly supervise and coach Clinic Operations leaders, providing clear expectations, performance feedback, and leadership development.
  • Ensure consistency, accountability, and operational excellence across all clinics through strong leader-to-leader engagement.
  • Build a strong leadership bench by identifying and developing future operational leaders.
  • Assist with operational planning and execution for external partnerships, including school-based health, community-based services, specialty care integration, and other collaborative care models.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to launch, scale, and optimize new services.
  • Assess operational readiness, resource needs, and financial impact for new programs and expansion initiatives.
  • Ensure clinics meet or exceed performance targets related to productivity, access, utilization, patient experience, quality outcomes, and financial performance.
  • Cross-department collaboration to ensure operational standardization, ensuring best practices are implemented consistently while allowing for appropriate site-level flexibility.
  • Partner with finance and quality teams to optimize value-based care performance, UDS outcomes, and population health measures.
  • Maintain senior-level oversight of regulatory compliance, accreditation, and audit readiness (HRSA, PCMH, OSHA, ODH, state and federal requirements).
  • Ensure a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and proactive risk mitigation across all clinic operations.
  • Proactively assess operational and strategic risks and establish contingency plans to ensure continuity and progress toward organizational goals.
  • Analyze enterprise-level operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives across clinics and service lines.
