About The Position

The Senior Director of Operations is responsible for the management and oversight of Case Management, Permanency, and Kinship within designated region. This position assures the effective delivery of services to youth and their families, continuous compliance with all external regulatory and licensing agencies, and adherence to the SSCC Contract responsibilities. In addition, the position is responsible for internal communication between departments and teams to ensure the effective delivery of contract obligations and service responsibilities. The Senior Director of Operations also helps support the professional image within local, regional, and state communities.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in social work, managed care, or related field.
  • Requires a valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Requires reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
  • Requires ten (10) years of experience in child welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Works in collaboration with the Senior Director of Quality Assurance and Contracts as well as other members of the Leadership Team to review trends, address concerns and meet goals as outlined by the Vice President of Community Based Care.
  • Assures the delivery, documentation, and evaluation of effective, safe, cost-efficient services to youth and their families. This will include maintaining adequate staffing and supervision in all departments of which this position has direct oversight, ongoing staff training and in-service opportunities to promote staff development and efficiencies, and adherence to the highest standards of safety for clients and staff.
  • Assures the continuous organized functioning of all operations related to Case Management, Permanency, and Kinship. This includes any administrative, clerical and record keeping aspects of these departments.
  • Assure the long-term viability of the organization as a well-respected provider of children’s services.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of youth care trends at local and state levels.
  • Utilizes data analysis to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and make informed decisions.
  • Participates in expansion and capacity building opportunities in response to demonstrated needs.
  • Assures continuous communication between all departments and Executive Management.
  • Receives supervision from and actively communicate with supervisor on an ongoing basis throughout the week by phone, email, written message and when possible, in person regarding program matters.
  • Supervises staff directly or their supervisors depending upon the personnel actions including action plans, hiring, terminations, recruitment, vacation and sick day requests.
  • Ensures that program staffing is qualified and provides continued safety of children served with high rates of success/program completion.
  • Provides supervision of all direct reports and ensure staff development.
  • Represents the organization at community meetings, designated State or Regional meetings as well as conferences and seminars.
  • Promotes the organization’s professional image within local, state, and national communities.
  • Participates in long range and strategic planning initiatives with the Executive Team.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of client information, case progress, and outcomes.
  • Generates regular reports on program activities, achievements, and challenges for management and funding agencies.
  • Reports on each department’s activities, plans and anticipated needs.
  • Assures the sound financial management of all aspects of the organization. This will include participation in budget development and revisions, and familiarity with funding patterns and developments among state agencies.
  • Assures the continuous compliance of the SSCC Contract with all licensing and regulatory agencies as well as any additional requirements as determined by the Federal Lawsuit.
  • Ensures the provision of high-quality and timely delivery of services to children.
  • Ensures implementation of all organizational policies.
