About The Position

The Director of Case Management will oversee and manage the case management department, and all case management functions to ensure the effective delivery of services to clients. This position will lead a team of Case Management Supervisors, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations and excellent client care. This role requires strong leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively oversee case management functions, meet outcomes, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. The Director of Case Management, is crucial in providing strategic direction, ensuring high-quality services, and advocating for clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
  • Valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
  • Three (3) years of experience in case management of child welfare.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Clearances: DPS DFPS FBI CBCU Eligibility Determination Child abuse clearances

Responsibilities

  • Stay informed about best practices, research, and advancements in the field of social services and case management.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols for effective case management services.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and needs, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and support systems.
  • Utilize data analysis to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and make informed decisions.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines pertaining to case management and social services.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance measures to monitor and enhance the quality of case management services.
  • Address any client concerns or complaints and implement appropriate resolution strategies.
  • Attend conferences, seminars, and training opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  • Receive supervision from and actively communicate with supervisor on an ongoing basis throughout the week by phone, email, written message and when possible, in person regarding program matters.
  • Supervise staff directly or their supervisors depending upon the personnel actions including action plans, hiring, terminations, recruitment, vacation and sick day requests.
  • Ensures that program staffing is qualified and provides continued safety of children served with high rates of success/program completion.
  • Encourage and support the professional development of case management staff.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the case management department.
  • Supervise and mentor case managers and support staff, ensuring their professional development and performance.
  • Participate in relevant committees, task forces, and community meetings to represent the organization and advocate for social services.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with external stakeholders, such as government agencies, community organizations, and healthcare providers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of client information, case progress, and outcomes.
  • Prepare and present reports to management, board members, and funding agencies, highlighting program outcomes, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Generate regular reports on program activities, achievements, and challenges for management and funding agencies.
  • Assist Senior Leadership with financial reviews of department budget and expenses.
  • Approves or denies client expenses accordingly.
  • Monitors overtime within the unit/ department and follows up with supervisors and staff accordingly.
  • Has oversight of staff travel expenses and ensures reimbursement policies/ procedures are followed for timely reimbursement.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality and timely permanency services to children and families, including adoption, legal guardianship, and family reunification.
