About The Position

The Senior Director of Lean Excellence for Johnson & Johnson (Surgical Vision/Vision Care) is responsible for applying Lean Methodology and similar tools (Six Sigma, Lean) to drive significant business improvements into manufacturing site operational models. This includes the development and execution of a multiyear roadmap by site, coaching team members and site leaders and leadership teams, and creating a continuous improvement and transformational culture. This position will be located in Jacksonville, FL.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor degree or 4 year degree equivalent is required, preferably in Finance, Marketing, the Sciences, or Engineering field
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant business experience in leading supply chain functions
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Six Sigma/Lean Certification required
  • Strong global and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across the organization
  • Ability to understand large complex processes with a focus on continuous improvement and a desire for prudent innovation
  • Possess strong project management skills and be able to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
  • Expert knowledge of Lean Methodology and other Process Excellence and continuous improvement tools and their application to business processes
  • Customer focused and able to lead process improvement initiatives from an internal lens of time, cost and quality and through an external lens of customers’ and stakeholder experience
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time domestically and/or internationally is required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site Process Excellence and site/functional leaders through a process to systematically find opportunities to enhance operational performance and site business processes through internal/external benchmarking and continuous improvement tools
  • Drive site data collection and check quality of information through the use of pre-diagnostic analyses and other analytical tools
  • Drive the development of Lean multiyear roadmap aligned with site competitiveness strategies/site missions. (Diagnostics, Phases and Health check)
  • In partnership lead the execution of the site Lean transformation roadmaps defining detailed dates for each activity and anticipated implications (resources, communication, cultural change).
  • Instill a culture of continuous improvement, and a mindset of challenging the status quo
  • Adapt to a constantly evolving environment and leverage change as an opportunity to improve processes and tools
  • Plan and deliver trainings in improvement methodologies to raise the organizational acumen
  • Coach partners in application of Lean methodology/Tools
