About The Position

Maven Clinic is seeking a Senior Director to lead the HRBP function and drive talent program strategies. This role involves partnering with executive leadership to shape organizational strategy, enhance manager effectiveness, and develop scalable talent practices to support growth. The Senior Director will lead a team of HRBPs and serve as an HRBP to client groups, including the growth team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments, with a focus on strategic and operational excellence in people programs. Experience with AI adoption, data-driven decision-making, organizational design, talent planning, and learning & development with a business outcome focus is essential.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources Business Partner, People leadership, or equivalent business operations roles.
  • 5+ years of people management experience with a proven track record of developing senior talent.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams in high-growth or transformational environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change and scaling teams through rapid growth.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills; ability to establish rapport, build credibility, and engage in executive-level partnerships.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people strategy to operational and financial outcomes.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled workflows to drive operational excellence and consistency.
  • Experience using people analytics and workforce insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills (objectivity, empathy, patience, diplomacy).
  • Entrepreneurial drive, ability to create order from chaos, and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
  • Active work authorization in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of senior HRBPs, setting high standards for business partnership and coaching for growth.
  • Serve as HRBP to the growth team and senior executive client groups (G&A), providing strategic counsel on organizational design, team effectiveness, and change management.
  • Lead the approach to employee relations matters, mitigating risk and ensuring values-aligned decision-making.
  • Partner with the SVP, People and CFO on workforce planning, aligning headcount strategy with business priorities, growth plans, and financial targets.
  • Support executive- and board-level reporting on organizational health, leadership pipeline, and people metrics.
  • Design and deliver high-priority talent programs, including performance management, talent reviews, and manager development.
  • Own retention strategy and execute targeted interventions for critical talent segments.
  • Lead organizational design initiatives, including spans and layers analysis, team restructures, and role clarity.
  • Build and evolve L&D programming, focusing on manager effectiveness and AI transformation.
  • Champion scalable, data-informed, and AI-enabled people practices, using analytics to inform decisions and measure impact.
  • Drive AI adoption within the People function, deploying AI tools in HR workflows.
  • Enable managers to lead effectively through Maven's AI transformation by building necessary skills, frameworks, and support structures.
  • Partner closely with People Operations, Recruiting, Employee Experience, Finance, and Legal to ensure clear roles, efficient processes, and a consistent employee experience.
  • Act as a connector across functions, bringing objectivity, empathy, and judgment to complex people issues.
