About The Position

As the Senior Director, Global Sales for Nike Basketball, you are the commercial voice in the Global Nike Basketball team and responsible for developing, applying & overseeing the sales strategy and go-to-market process for Nike Basketball across the globe. In this role you have a critical role working with both senior sales management, the x-functional Nike Basketball team as well as geography sales teams. As a result it is critical to have strong communication skills, ensure stakeholders are up-to-date at all teams and you excel at influencing those around you. This role will report directly to the Vice President Nike Cross Sport-Global Sales and serve as a member of both the Global Basketball Leadership team and Global Sport Sales Leadership team.

Requirements

  • 12+ years' work experience in applicable field required
  • Solid understanding of Sales & Retail KPI’s
  • Expert understanding of retail and in-store environment required
  • Marketplace management, go-to-market & distribution strategy experience required
  • Strong communication & influencing skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training

Responsibilities

  • Developing, applying & overseeing the sales strategy and go-to-market process for Nike Basketball across the globe.
  • Executing and analyzing business plans, budgets, and performance targets.
  • Initiating and executing account engagements, building marketplace plans and providing go-to-market direction.
  • Proposing and ensuring the execution of strategies, programs, and processes to achieve revenue targets, retail sales targets and strong brand positioning.
  • Contributing to commercial sales planning and decision-making.
  • Cross-functional influencing across Global and geography.
  • Developing 3-year, annual & seasonal commercial strategies through the lens of channels, signature athletes & partners in support of driving the Global Nike Basketball business.
  • Partnering with Nike’s four geographies to shape strategy and ensure successful execution in each geo.
  • Partnering with key geographies, territories and cities to expand distribution and ensure Nike Basketball has adequate coverage across the globe.
  • Working closely with the geography sales teams to determine distribution plans and align on marketplace segmentation.
  • Leading the strategy/planning of the seasonal go-to-market process and influencing the creation & delivery of critical sales tools in support of the sales teams in the geographies.
  • Initiating, planning & leading critical partner engagements (ie.; product engagements & summits) with our most important partners across the globe in order to strengthen our relationship and collaborate together throughout the go-to-market process.
  • Ensuring that seasonal product priorities land with impact across the global marketplace and partnering across merchandising and brand to bring this to life through assortment & marketing.
  • Working closely with x-functional teams like marketplace development and retail marketing making sure must-win destinations across the global marketplace are elevated to ensure best-in-class consumer experiences.
  • Fostering career growth for two direct reports and providing Sales mentorship to the broader organization.
