About The Position

Reporting to the COO, the Senior Director, Finance serves as the senior leader responsible for the Company's finance operations, accounting oversight, financial reporting, compliance, procurement processes, cash management, and financial systems. This role partners closely with the COO and Leadership Team to provide reliable financial information, scalable processes, and strong financial controls in support of organizational objectives. This role does not have primary responsibility for investor relations, fundraising, capital markets transactions, or advanced FP&A modeling but will work closely with Business Development to support these activities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading finance operations, accounting oversight, monthly close coordination, financial reporting, and audit/tax coordination.
  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, budget administration, cash management, procurement, AP, vendor onboarding, corporate card/expense management, and finance policy development.
  • Experience managing outsourced accounting providers, auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers, banking partners, and other external finance service providers.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and finance operations systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to design, document, and improve scalable finance processes, SOPs, approval workflows, and control environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate financial information into clear operating insights for executives and functional leaders.
  • Effective people manager and cross-functional partner with the judgment to operate independently in a growing life sciences organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all finance staff and accounting operations, monthly close coordination, financial reporting packages, and compliance with established budget and reporting processes.
  • Lead finance operations, including accounts payable, purchasing, corporate card and expense processes, vendor onboarding, and payment controls.
  • Manage cash management, treasury administration, short-term cash reporting, banking relationships, and related operating controls.
  • Partner with the COO, CEO, and functional leaders to support annual budget development and administration, variance review, and practical financial decision support without requiring advanced FP&A ownership.
  • Develop, document, and improve financial policies, SOPs, workflows, approval matrices, and internal controls that scale with the organization.
  • Coordinate external accounting, audit, tax, insurance, banking, and other finance service provider relationships.
  • Serve as operational finance leader for finance systems and data integrity.
