About The Position

QuantumScape seeks a strategic, execution-focused Senior Director, Enterprise IT Infrastructure and Operations to define and deliver the enterprise infrastructure vision, operating model, and multi-year roadmap in support of company priorities and growth. This senior leadership role has significant organizational ownership and executive visibility. The position owns enterprise networking, identity, endpoints, service desk, collaboration, on-premises systems, hybrid cloud connectivity, and infrastructure supporting R&D labs and manufacturing. The role serves as a senior advisor to the CIO and CISO and partners with engineering, operations, and business leaders to develop the talent, architecture, and investment strategy needed to scale. The role will address current operational gaps while building the organization, culture, and infrastructure needed for commercial production, AI adoption, and an increasingly complex technology environment. It leads enterprise infrastructure strategy and operations, including networking modernization, identity and endpoint services, service management and customer experience, lab and manufacturing IT, cloud and platform partnerships, automation and observability, and organizational development. The position defines and executes a multi-year infrastructure and operations strategy; owns operational performance and service delivery; modernizes infrastructure while maintaining continuity; embeds security and resilience requirements; sponsors major incidents and disaster recovery readiness; and leads responsible use of AIOps, automation, and AI-enabled operations. It also governs the infrastructure portfolio, operating and capital plans, budget, sourcing, vendors, and technology lifecycle investments, while building and developing a high-performing organization and establishing governance and operating rhythms. This position is required to work onsite five days per week. The company describes itself as an onsite R&D and manufacturing operations organization where in-person interaction supports relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.
