About The Position

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a visionary enterprise leader to shape the future of workforce strategy, AI modernization, and organizational capability at Fortune 3 scale. Reporting to the VP of Talent & Workforce Strategy, this role will lead the evolution of enterprise workforce strategy, AI-enabled workforce modernization, and skills-powered workforce strategy. The Senior Director will build the frameworks, insights, and enterprise rhythms needed to align workforce supply, demand, skills, and organizational capability with evolving business priorities, AI disruption, labor market dynamics, and the future of work. This role operates at the intersection of business strategy, workforce planning, and organizational evolution — translating enterprise business priorities into future workforce capability requirements, organizational design implications, and AI-enabled work evolution. The leader will integrate external healthcare and technology trends, internal talent analytics, and business priorities into actionable workforce strategy that shapes enterprise investment decisions, skills development, workforce movement, and work design across the organization. This is not an operational HR role. It is a future-focused enterprise strategy role designed to help UHG proactively shape the workforce of tomorrow. A key expectation of this role is to bring deep external perspective and large-scale transformation expertise to help navigate complexity, align disparate efforts, and accelerate progress beyond pilots and fragmented workstreams toward enterprise adoption. This leader will complement existing capability owners by focusing on scale, integration, and acceleration — ensuring the organization moves faster, with greater clarity, and with measurable enterprise impact. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
