About The Position

The Senior Director, Decision Intelligence & Data Products will lead the strategy, architecture, and management of Caliber’s enterprise data and analytics ecosystem. The role is responsible for ensuring the data platform is reliable, scalable, secure, and ready to support AI, business insights, and transformation across operations, finance, HR, supply chain, and customer experience. The position collaborates with data engineering, analytics, governance, IT, and business teams to deliver a unified data foundation that enables self-service analytics and enterprise AI initiatives.

The role leads platform design, development, operations, tool administration, modernization, DataOps, security, performance optimization, documentation, and team development. It also prepares platform capabilities for enterprise AI adoption, including support for APIs, vector stores, and LLM data integrations. This position reports to the Vice President, Data, Analytics & AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in data engineering, cloud data platform administration, or analytics infrastructure leadership, including 3 or more years in a lead- or architect-level role.
• Deep experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Synapse, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery, and supporting tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Fivetran.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture on Azure or AWS, networking, compute optimization, and cost management.
• Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools, including security, performance tuning, and semantic model management.
• Knowledge of data privacy frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and SOX, and of integrating governance policies into platform design.
• Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models, with strong SQL and schema design skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions that enable insight generation and AI readiness.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working effectively with IT, business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to modernize processes, automate workflows, and improve data platform performance and trust.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions.

Nice To Haves

• A master’s degree is a plus.
• One or more relevant certifications are preferred: SnowPro Core or Advanced Architect; Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or Solutions Architect; AWS Certified Data Analytics or equivalent; dbt Fundamentals or Practitioner; ITIL, CISSP, or other governance/security certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build, and operation of the enterprise data platform, including cloud data warehouse, data lake, integration, and orchestration layers.
• Administer and optimize analytics and data tools for usability, performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Modernize legacy systems into a cloud-native, governed, high-performance environment that supports AI and analytics at scale.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, data observability, version control, and automated testing for reliable, repeatable, and auditable data delivery.
• Partner with Data Governance, Cybersecurity, and IT GRC to ensure access control, data encryption, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Analytics CoE, Data Governance, and AI CoE to integrate data pipelines, models, and business-facing insights.
• Monitor and tune system performance to balance compute and storage efficiency while maintaining data freshness and reliability.
• Prepare platform capabilities for enterprise AI adoption, including support for APIs, vector stores, and LLM data integrations.
• Establish platform standards, data pipeline documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Build and develop a high-performing team of platform engineers, administrators, and DataOps professionals.
• Modernize processes, automate workflows, and improve platform performance and data trust.
