We aim to build an inclusive community that values people with intellectual disabilities. We support people living in more than 50 homes throughout Winnipeg. People at DASCH have access to recreational and life skills development. Our DASCHWorks program provides support and opportunities for employment, financial stability, and independence. Specialized professionals offer support in areas such as life skills, behaviour management, nutrition, and mental health. We are known for exceptional service. Requirements

  • Completed Grade 10 in Canada, or you have achieved Level 6 on the Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment.
  • A Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License (Intermediate Stage acceptable).
  • Have a smart device with internet access.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or related education.
  • Demonstrated leadership or experience guiding others in a team environment.
  • You connect with others quickly and build strong relationships.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently.
  • You are organized, detail-oriented, and accountable.
  • You are adaptable and confident in problem-solving.
  • You lead by example and enjoy supporting others to succeed.
  • You believe everyone has the right to be part of the community regardless of abilities.
  • Satisfactory background checks, including a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry check and Child Abuse Registry check.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and coordinating staff on shift to ensure all responsibilities are completed.
  • Providing direct support including personal hygiene, grocery shopping, housekeeping, meal preparation, and socialization.
  • Ensuring the environment is clean, safe, and comfortable.
  • Supporting medical needs including appointments, medication, and follow-ups.
  • Organizing the day, monitoring routines, and ensuring accurate, timely documentation.
  • Reviewing staff documentation, time tracking, and incident reports for accuracy.
  • Supporting staff through guidance, task assignment, and real-time coaching.
  • Encouraging and supporting people at DASCH to engage in community activities based on their likes and abilities.
  • Advocating for people at DASCH, ensuring their best interests are always prioritized.
  • Being a role model to both staff and people supported by promoting independence, dignity, and respect.
