About The Position

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking Senior Direct Care staff to join our Woodside residential program in Torrington, CT. Our residential direct care staff establish life-changing relationships with our participants and provide opportunities to optimize their independence, rehabilitation, and recovery. The Woodside residential group home is dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive environment for individuals with persistent psychiatric conditions, enabling them to live safely and successfully within the community. The program is specifically designed to support clients who have experienced longstanding challenges with community living and have a history of repeated psychiatric hospitalizations.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required
At least 2 year experience working with psychiatric disorders or co-occurring population
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Valid driver's license
Registered and insured vehicle available for work purposes
Approved criminal background and driving check

Responsibilities

Assists the Assistant Program Manager and Program Manager in the day-to-day scheduling and management of the team, as well as assorted administrative functions.
Serves as a highly effective direct care staff.
Models behavior for the direct care staff and promotes house culture.
Demonstrates a high degree of responsibility and ability to manage details.
Can be used as a first step for direct care staff to demonstrate management abilities.
