About The Position

The Senior Digital Production Manager is a seasoned leader responsible for overseeing and leading the execution of complex digital initiatives within a cross-functional scrum team. This role ensures the seamless delivery of high-priority projects by managing timelines, mitigating risks, and optimizing workflows while maintaining alignment with strategic business objectives. As the primary escalation point for Digital Project Managers and Digital Production Managers, the Senior Digital Production Manager takes a proactive approach to resolving challenges, prioritizing critical initiatives, and ensuring the highest quality execution. They play a pivotal role in backlog management, ensuring work is properly scoped, requirements are validated, and stakeholder expectations are met. A key aspect of this role is expertise in communication and stakeholder engagement, working effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to align priorities, manage expectations, and drive project success. The Senior Digital Production Manager must be skilled at navigating complex conversations, influencing decisions, and fostering collaboration across multiple teams and leadership levels. With extensive experience in digital production, Agile methodologies, and cross-functional team leadership, the ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, problem solver, and process optimizer who excels in managing complexity while ensuring efficiency and seamless execution across digital projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university required.
  • 6+ years of experience in digital marketing, project management, or production workflows.
  • 1+ years of team leadership.
  • Seasoned experience with compliance review processes, legal approvals, and best practices in digital marketing.
  • Expert in Agile methodologies and leading teams in Agile environments.
  • Proven experience managing a team of project managers or digital production professionals, with a focus on team development, resource management, and performance optimization.
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and significant experience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, Asana, Jira).
  • Strong working knowledge of Web, Email, Mobile, and App channels, with a clear understanding of how digital tactics drive marketing goals and objectives.
  • Expertise in managing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across marketing, creative, technical, and business teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations, resolve conflicts, and keep projects moving forward.
  • Experience in streamlining and improving workflows, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and scale within digital production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders for broader scrum team, ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Digital Production Managers, providing guidance and support on project management processes, stakeholder communication, and best practices.
  • Ensure that team members are effectively managing their individual projects and workloads, while fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development for direct reports.
  • Oversee resource allocation and ensure team members are effectively utilized across multiple projects, adjusting priorities as needed to meet business demands.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business objectives and digital project execution across Web, Email, Mobile, and App channels.
  • Actively manage stakeholder relationships, communicating project statuses, timelines, risks, and resolutions effectively to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead strategic discussions with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring that all information required for successful execution is captured.
  • Oversee project intake and prioritize initiatives based on business impact, ensuring alignment with marketing, product, and business goals.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex digital projects, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and budgetary requirements.
  • Own and manage project timelines using advanced project management tools (e.g., Workfront, Asana, Jira), ensuring clear accountability across all teams involved.
  • Manage project scope and risks, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues or blockers that could impact delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to produce high-quality digital assets and content for campaigns and initiatives, ensuring all deliverables adhere to brand standards and compliance requirements.
  • Drive process improvements across the digital production team, optimizing workflows and introducing tools/technologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve digital project management processes, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for optimization.
  • Work closely with the digital production team and senior management to ensure that resource planning and allocation are aligned with project needs.
  • Ensure that all project changes, scope adjustments, and resource allocation issues are well-documented and communicated to all relevant parties.
  • Facilitate the development and refinement of internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) for digital project management and production.
  • Develop and maintain regular reporting for senior leadership, providing updates on project status, team performance, and key metrics.
  • Track project performance against goals, identifying opportunities for improvement and reporting on team successes and challenges.
  • Ensure that performance data is analyzed and used to inform future project decisions, resource planning, and team development strategies.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
