Senior DevOps Engineer

Juvare•Atlanta, GA

About The Position

Juvare is seeking a mid-to-senior DevOps Engineer to build and scale secure, compliant, and efficient cloud infrastructure while advancing AI-assisted engineering workflows. The role focuses on automating infrastructure, security, and compliance work, and bringing in modern AI tools where they can improve operational effectiveness. It goes beyond maintaining existing systems and calls for proactively identifying and eliminating repetitive work. The position is listed as Atlanta / Remote. It involves working with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automation workflows, AI coding assistants, and infrastructure monitoring. The successful candidate will support regulated environments and help establish practices for adopting AI tooling across the organization. The role may require access to EAR-controlled materials and sensitive government information. Candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person or otherwise be eligible for access to EAR-covered materials, and may need to pass an SF-85 background check and obtain public trust clearance.

Requirements

  • 4–7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with a major cloud provider such as AWS or Azure.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code; Terraform is strongly preferred.
  • Solid scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Comfort working in regulated or compliance-heavy environments such as FedRAMP, IL5, or SOC 2.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and automation tooling, with a track record of adopting new tools to improve workflows.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person or otherwise be eligible to access EAR-covered materials through an EAR exception or license.
  • Must be capable of passing an SF-85 background check and obtaining public trust clearance if required.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS GovCloud experience.
  • Experience with low-code automation platforms such as n8n or Zapier.
  • Familiarity with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Codex in a professional engineering setting.
  • Experience supporting federal clients or federal compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP or IL5.
  • Experience with Datadog or an equivalent observability platform.
  • Container hardening or security scanning experience, such as with RapidFort.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Terraform infrastructure as code across multi-account cloud environments, considering cost efficiency, security, and compliance.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support frequent, safe deployments.
  • Develop automation workflows using platforms such as n8n or Zapier, or custom scripts and APIs, to reduce manual operational and compliance work.
  • Integrate AI coding assistants and agentic tools into engineering workflows.
  • Help establish governance and cost practices for organization-wide adoption of AI tooling.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and security posture using tools such as Datadog, building dashboards, alerting, end-to-end visibility, dependency monitoring, and automated remediation.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to eliminate repetitive work through scripting, infrastructure as code, or AI-assisted tooling.
