Senior DevOps Engineer
About The Position
CAI is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure, automation, and systems that support software development, deployment, and reliability. The role is onsite in Miramar, Florida. The posting describes the position as contract work and states that it will be direct employment with CAI. Work authorization sponsorship is not offered now or in the future. The engineer will build and maintain infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes workloads across cloud and on-premises environments. The role also applies DevSecOps practices and security controls, collaborates with Engineering, Operations, QA, and Security teams, and provides guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of proven DevOps Engineer experience, including senior-level responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub, including version control, branching strategies, workflows, and repository management.
- Strong proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
- Expertise with GitHub Actions and Argo CD for CI/CD.
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, and JavaScript scripting.
- Deep Kubernetes experience in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
- Familiarity with security best practices, DevSecOps principles, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with OpenShift.
- Experience with generative AI, including integrating AI workflows, automation, or AI-driven tooling.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or CloudFormation for cloud and on-premises resources.
- Create, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and tools such as Argo CD to automate build, testing, security scanning, and release workflows.
- Deploy, scale, and operate Kubernetes workloads across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Apply DevSecOps best practices, adhere to security standards, and implement automated security controls and compliance guardrails.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, QA, and Security teams to streamline development workflows and promote DevOps best practices.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers.
