About The Position

DV Trading is seeking a senior-level DevOps Engineer for a small, high-impact team that builds and operates infrastructure powering the firm's trading systems. The team built its platform from scratch in 2025 and owns it end-to-end. The role covers Kubernetes operations, an on-premises observability platform, CI/CD and GitOps infrastructure, workflow orchestration, and automation. The engineer will work directly with trading desks and development teams to onboard users, improve platform adoption, and support the systems those teams depend on.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles.
  • Deep hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production, including cluster lifecycle, troubleshooting, networking, storage, and RBAC.
  • Production experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and alerting.
  • Understanding of OpenTelemetry, including collectors, exporters, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with ArgoCD, Flux, or similar GitOps tools.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or an equivalent.
  • Experience with artifact management tools such as Artifactory, Nexus, or similar.
  • Experience using Terraform and/or Ansible for provisioning and configuration management.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals, including systemd, networking, storage, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Ability to use Go or Python for automation, tooling, and scripting.
  • Comfort reading and writing YAML and Helm charts.
  • Ability to work directly with trading desks and development teams, including explaining Kubernetes concepts to people who are not Kubernetes experts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Cluster API, bare-metal provisioning, or multi-cluster management.
  • Familiarity with Mimir, Loki, Tempo, or Thanos for scaled metrics, logs, and traces.

  • Experience with Kubeflow, Airflow, or ML pipeline orchestration.
  • Experience with advanced Kubernetes networking, including CNI plugins, network policies, or service mesh.
  • Experience with Kafka or event-streaming platforms.
  • Experience operating on-premises infrastructure, including bare-metal servers, IPAM, and storage systems.
  • Thoughtful use of AI coding assistants and interest in AI-assisted operational tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and evolve the Kubernetes platform, including cluster lifecycle management with Cluster API, fleet-wide upgrades, bare-metal provisioning, CNI networking, storage, autoscaling, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Operate and scale the on-premises observability stack, including Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Grafana, OpenTelemetry Collector, and Alertmanager.
  • Drive observability adoption by onboarding teams, building dashboards, tuning alerts, and scaling ingestion for growing workloads.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps infrastructure using GitLab pipelines, ArgoCD, and Artifactory.
  • Build reusable CI components, improve secrets integration, and support trading desks as they onboard to the platform.
  • Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, configuration management, and self-service tooling.
  • Work with trading desks and development teams to onboard them to platform services.
  • Write runbooks, contribute to documentation, and help develop a sustainable support model as the platform scales.
