Senior DevOps Engineer

Treasury Prime•San Francisco, CA
•$180,000 - $220,000

About The Position

Treasury Prime builds infrastructure connecting banks and fintechs. The Senior DevOps Engineer owns infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments, including the San Francisco data center, the systems that keep it running, and data pipelines supporting internal operations. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role working with DevOps and Data Engineers and partnering closely with software engineering and product. The engineer makes architecture decisions, writes and reviews infrastructure code, stays close to production, and helps set technical direction and improve how the team builds and operates infrastructure. The role requires commuting to the San Francisco data center and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Treasury Prime describes itself as an AI-forward company and seeks curious, self-motivated learners who experiment with AI tools and assess how they can be used in infrastructure work. The position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Treasury Prime hires in the United States and Canada only; applications from candidates residing elsewhere cannot be processed.

Requirements

  • 6 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, owning production infrastructure at scale.
  • Hands-on experience running physical infrastructure in a data center, including racking, cabling, hardware replacement, and network setup.
  • Deep, practical experience with CI/CD, cloud services, infrastructure-as-code, containers, and monitoring.
  • Experience owning production reliability, including on-call, incident response, and SLOs.
  • Familiarity with compliance programs such as SOC 2 and PCI and their operational requirements.
  • A record of infrastructure decisions the candidate can explain, including choices, trade-offs, and outcomes.
  • Clear written communication, including design documents, runbooks, and postmortems that others can use.
  • Curiosity about AI and self-directed learning, including experimenting with tools and understanding their appropriate use in infrastructure and production.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and close enough to be on site at the data center when needed.
  • Willingness to commute to the San Francisco data center.

Nice To Haves

  • Network engineering and DNS administration.
  • Hands-on experience with penetration testing, security scans, and security issue management.
  • Experience building data pipelines and data warehouses alongside infrastructure.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as banking, payments, or financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments, including networking, infrastructure-as-code, containers, and cost management.
  • Run and improve the San Francisco data center, including hands-on hardware work when needed.
  • Own deployment pipelines and automation so engineers can ship safely and frequently.
  • Set monitoring standards for logging, metrics, and alerting.
  • Define service levels and lead incident response from the initial page through the postmortem.
  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and data warehouses for internal analytics, reporting, and compliance.
  • Keep infrastructure aligned with SOC 2 and PCI requirements, including audit logging, data residency, and access controls.
  • Reduce single points of failure by documenting systems, automating runbooks, and sharing knowledge.
  • Partner with software engineering and product to raise constraints early, align on priorities, and keep delivery moving.
  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, and code review.
  • Make architecture decisions, write and review infrastructure code, and help set technical direction for infrastructure.
