•$200,000 - $250,000

About The Position

DV Trading is seeking a senior-level DevOps Engineer to join a small, high-impact team that builds and operates the infrastructure supporting the firm’s trading systems. The role focuses on Kubernetes at scale, a firm-wide observability platform, CI/CD infrastructure, and workflow orchestration. The team built the platform from scratch in 2025 and owns it end-to-end. As the platform expands to serve growing demand across the firm, the engineer will have substantial ownership and contribute to its direction and operation. The position involves operating and evolving the Kubernetes platform; scaling and supporting an on-premises observability stack; developing CI/CD and GitOps capabilities; automating infrastructure and self-service tooling; and working directly with trading desks and development teams to onboard users and support platform adoption. The role is based in a high-performance trading environment and offers a base salary range of $200,000–$250,000 USD, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus and the company benefits package.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles.
  • Deep hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production, including cluster lifecycle, troubleshooting, networking, storage, and RBAC.
  • Production experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and alerting.
  • Understanding of OpenTelemetry, including collectors, exporters, and instrumentation.

  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
  • Experience with artifact management such as Artifactory, Nexus, or similar.
  • Experience with Terraform and/or Ansible for provisioning and configuration management.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals, including systemd, networking, storage, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Programming experience in Go or Python for automation, tooling, and scripting.

  • Experience with Kubeflow, Airflow, or ML pipeline orchestration.
  • Experience with advanced Kubernetes networking, including CNI plugins, network policies, or service mesh.
  • Experience with Kafka or event streaming platforms.
  • Experience operating on-premises infrastructure, including bare-metal servers, IPAM, and storage systems.
  • Thoughtful use of AI coding assistants and interest in AI-assisted operational tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and evolve Kubernetes clusters, including lifecycle management with Cluster API, fleet-wide upgrades, bare-metal provisioning, CNI networking, storage, autoscaling, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Operate and scale the on-premises observability stack, including Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Grafana, OpenTelemetry Collector, and Alertmanager.
  • Onboard teams to observability tools, build dashboards, tune alerts, and scale ingestion for growing workloads.
  • Build reusable CI components and maintain CI/CD and GitOps systems using GitLab pipelines, ArgoCD, and Artifactory.
  • Improve secrets integration and support trading desks as they onboard to the platform.
  • Build and maintain automation for provisioning, configuration management, and self-service tooling.
