About the position
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Bloomerang, you will play a crucial role in modernizing the platform infrastructure and internal tooling. Your responsibilities will include setting up monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the uptime and reliability of the app infrastructure, presenting process improvements to the team, responding to incidents and issues as part of an on-call rotation, and providing support to other Engineering team members. Your expertise in cloud operations, Agile methodologies, and troubleshooting deployment pipelines will be essential in this role. Responsibilities
- Setting up monitoring/alerting to ensure uptime and reliability of the app infrastructure
- Presenting and discussing process improvements with the team
- Responding to incidents and other issues as part of an on-call rotation
- Understanding systems and industry best practices related to those systems
- Communicating across teams and departments as needed
- Providing support to other Engineering team members
- Performing system maintenance tasks
- Leveraging system logs, metrics, and other data sources to detect and solve problems
- Understanding Agile methodologies, cloud operations, and workflows
- Understanding tools, practices, and troubleshooting deployment pipelines
- Cloud expertise (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- IaC expertise, e.g. Terraform
- Competent understanding of server commands (Linux or Powershell) and remote diagnostic tools
- Security-mindedness in work, consistently demonstrating secure working practices and producing highly secure solutions
- Leadership experience implementing complex projects (nice to have)
- Experience with monitoring tools (nice to have)
