About the position
The job overview for this position is to set up and maintain infrastructure in AWS for Production, Development, and Test environments. The role involves monitoring system health, performance, and security, as well as being the technical expert on operations and infrastructure projects. Capacity planning, compliance monitoring, and security management are also key responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, along with extensive experience in configuration management and engineering for large scale websites. Knowledge of container and orchestration technologies, Linux environments, scripting languages, and AWS cloud platform is required. Additionally, experience with databases, network protocols, monitoring tools, version control systems, and build tools is desired. The ability to handle on-call rotation for production support and work under critical situations is also expected.
Responsibilities
- Setup infrastructure and maintain Production, Development and Test environments in AWS.
- Monitor production systems for system health, performance and security.
- Be the technical expert on key operations and infrastructure projects to evaluate and improve the performance.
- Understand the workload requirements and perform capacity planning.
- Monitor the SLAs for the Glooko Cloud Platform for compliance.
- Design, implement and manage security tools and systems to ensure effectiveness of controls.
- Perform security reviews of server / network / application and ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
Requirements
- Must live and work in Croatia
- Degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
- 5+ years of working experience in configuration management and engineering for large scale websites
- Knowledge of container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Hands-on experience with Docker on AWS ECS
- Experience with Linux environments and scripting languages (Bash, Python)
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platform and cloud automation tools (Terraform/CloudFormation)
- Experience with MongoDB and SQL databases like MySQL, Postgres
- Hands-on experience with network protocols, Load Balancers, Auto scaling and VPN
- Experience with monitoring, trending and diagnostics tools (New Relic, Sumo logic, Cloud watch etc)
- Experience with logging tools such as Papertrail, etc
- Deep understanding of git version control system, including branching and merging strategies
- Prior hands-on experience with build tools and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)
- Ability to take on-call rotation for production support and coordinate work under production critical situations
