About The Position

Arbella Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Developer to design, develop, and support Duck Creek Policy Administration System insurance products and lines of business that meet business and technical requirements. This role involves collaborating with Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts to gather and validate insurance product requirements, working within the Duck Creek OnDemand ecosystem to develop products compliant with the Duck Creek Active Delivery model, and managing code movement and deployment across test environments. The Senior Developer will also integrate the Duck Creek Policy application with third-party APIs and other data sources, provide guidance and training to the Duck Creek team, incorporate industry best practices, and offer inputs to product testing and validation. Additionally, the role requires collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues to provide relevant information and reports to business stakeholders. This position operates under a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline followed by 5 years of experience as a professional software developer, OR three years of academic studies towards a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline followed by 6 years of experience as a professional software developer. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
  • 5 years of professional software development experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain.
  • 5 years of experience configuring Duck Creek Policy components including Underwriting/Rules, Pages, Rating, TransACT and Forms.
  • 5 years of experience using Duck Creek Platform tools and applications including Server, Author, ManuScripts, Express, User Admin, Trace Monitor, and Util.
  • 2 years of experience with Duck Creek OnDemand Policy Platform version 8.x.
  • 2 years of experience with Duck Creek Anywhere APIs, AMIs, and Composed Requests.
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft .NET, XML, XPath, XSLT, SQL, and C#.
  • 1 year of experience in providing training on Duck Creek Policy Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and support Duck Creek Policy Administration System insurance products and lines of business that meet business and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts to gather and validate insurance product requirements
  • Work on the Duck Creek OnDemand ecosystem and develop products that are compliant with the Duck Creek Active Delivery model
  • Work on code movement and deployment across test environments and assist the release management team with production deployments
  • Integrate Duck Creek Policy application with third party APIs and other data sources
  • Provide guidance, train and mentor the Duck Creek team where applicable and incorporate industry best practices/standards
  • Provide inputs to product testing and validation scope and review artifacts
  • Provide relevant information and reports to business stakeholders by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
