About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is hiring a Senior Design Engineer for its Aerospace manufacturing plant in Camarillo, California. This is a full-time, onsite role, Monday through Friday, on a daylight schedule. The position is responsible for new product development and introduction, as well as ongoing engineering support for custom interconnect systems and hold-down release mechanism devices for space and defense applications. The engineer applies sound engineering principles and practical problem-solving, using product lifecycle management (PLM) and computer-aided design (CAD) tools. The role is accountable for achieving engineering program milestones on projects led by the engineer and supporting milestones on other projects. Work may include internal research and development, new product introduction, sustaining engineering, cost-out projects, manufacturing sourcing changes, and new business campaigns. The successful candidate leads product development or sustaining engineering tasks, coordinates with internal and external partners, and guides less experienced engineering team members. The engineer leads failure investigations, troubleshoots design and production issues, creates and reviews technical and program documents, manages product requirements and risks, and collaborates with customer and vendor technical teams. The expected annual salary range is $99,000–$145,000. The range is a general guideline; salary depends on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market conditions, and business considerations. No relocation benefit is offered, and candidates must generally be within 50 miles of the facility; active-duty military candidates are exempt from this geographic limitation. The position involves information or hardware subject to ITAR, so applicants must meet the stated U.S.-person definition. Eaton offers health and welfare benefits, retirement benefits, and programs providing paid and unpaid time away from work; specific offerings may depend on eligibility factors.
