About The Position

Reporting to the Director of the Engineering Audit Bureau (EAB), this position serves as the Deputy Director of the Engineering Audit Bureau. The role involves supervising and conducting audits of payment vouchers for construction, equipment, and related consultant service contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, Comptroller’s Directives, and audit standards and timelines. The Deputy Director will review Design & Construction Contract Change Orders and coordinate with the EAB Director to establish procedures and policies for EAB staff. This includes monitoring compliance with standards and recommending controls for corrective actions. The position is crucial for preserving the integrity of the payment process by ensuring that work performed or goods received align with specifications, industry standards, PPB Rules, and applicable State and Federal regulations. The role directs a staff of engineering, accounting, analytical, and clerical employees. Managerial duties include preparing status/management reports, attending meetings, and providing performance evaluations for EAB staff.

Requirements

  • Must be permanently serving in the Administrative Engineer title, OR be reachable on the most current Administrative Engineer exam list.
  • A valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer.
  • Six (6) years of full-time satisfactory experience in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or plan examining work.
  • At least two (2) years of the experience must have been in an executive, managerial, or administrative capacity.
