About The Position

AHS Investment Corporation (AHSIC) is seeking a Senior Day Porter to maintain a continuous presence in public and clinical-adjacent areas to ensure a clean, professional, and hygienic environment. This role involves performing scheduled and as-needed cleaning of various areas, including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, elevators, and stairwells, with a focus on high-touch surfaces and sanitation. The Senior Day Porter will also manage waste and recycling, respond to service requests, and support medical office tenants with minor room setups and operational needs. A professional, customer-service-focused demeanor is essential, recognizing the sensitivity of medical environments. The position requires adherence to established cleaning standards reflecting healthcare best practices, including chemical handling and sanitation procedures. The Senior Day Porter will identify and report safety hazards and building issues, serve as a lead for the day shift by guiding junior staff, and conduct walkthroughs to ensure facility readiness. Additionally, this role involves assisting in training new team members, communicating effectively with night crews and management, supporting deep cleaning efforts, and participating in emergency cleanup response.

Requirements

  • Experience in cleaning and sanitation, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of healthcare best practices for cleaning and disinfection.
  • Familiarity with chemical handling and safety procedures.
  • Ability to identify and report safety hazards and maintenance concerns.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to guide and train junior staff.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a continuous presence in public and clinical-adjacent areas to ensure a clean, professional, and hygienic environment.
  • Perform scheduled and as-needed cleaning of lobbies, corridors, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, and high-touch surfaces with heightened attention to sanitation.
  • Conduct routine restocking and restroom inspections aligned with medical facility hygiene expectations.
  • Manage waste and recycling, including compliant handling of medical-adjacent waste staging areas where permitted.
  • Respond quickly to service requests including spills, restroom calls, cleanup needs, and tenant assistance.
  • Support medical office tenants with minor room setups, small furniture adjustments, and ad hoc operational needs.
  • Maintain a professional, customer-service–focused demeanor at all times, recognizing the sensitivity of medical environments.
  • Follow established cleaning standards that reflect healthcare best practices, including chemical handling and sanitation procedures.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, building issues, and maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Serve as the senior porter for the day shift, guiding junior staff and ensuring task completion to expected standards.
  • Conduct opening, midday, and pre‑handoff walkthroughs with attention to detail and facility readiness.
  • Assist in training new team members on cleaning methods, equipment use, and safety requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with night crews and management to ensure continuity of service and cleanliness.
  • Support deep cleaning efforts, seasonal floor care, and exterior entry maintenance.
  • Participate in emergency cleanup response during incidents, weather events, or urgent tenant needs.
