The Senior Data Engineer designs, develops, and maintains automated reporting solutions that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of risk-reporting processes. The role combines reporting automation, AI-enabled workflows, application development, and technical problem solving to modernize legacy processes and support future-state reporting platforms. This is a net-new hybrid role based in Downtown Chicago. The successful candidate works from the Chicago office three days per week, with Tuesday as a required in-office day. During the first several months, the candidate will become familiar with existing code, risk data, and reporting processes, advance migration from SAS to Anaconda- and Python-based solutions, and improve the reliability and automation of reporting workflows. The role also provides production and end-user support and governance for the risk technical platform and system environment supporting risk data and control structures. It supports system planning, maintenance, change management, production operations, database coordination, data governance, and the monitoring of risk systems and infrastructure. The position collaborates with stakeholders and technology service providers, supports strategic initiatives and regulatory audits, and contributes to risk system documentation, process controls, and operational effectiveness. The successful candidate applies the Risk Management Framework and makes sound, risk-informed decisions in accordance with business strategy, approved risk appetite, policies, laws, and regulations.
